Assignment
Conduct a literature review of refereed (peer-reviewed), academic social science journal articles (published after 1990). Question: What is the effect of of the sleeping environment/conditions (=cause) on student performance, measured by GPA (=effect)?
Strategies to use when searching library databases:
- Use thesaurus to limit by type of research. Examples: empirical research, quantitative research, correlation, etc.
- Use thesaurus to brainstorm search terms: academic achievement, grade point average, etc.
- Look for search filters to limit search to peer-reviewed articles.
- Limit by year (1990 to present)
- Look for citation function. Most library resources will suggest a citation format. Make sure to double check it!
