Biology at GVSU
- GVSU Department of BiologyThe GVSU Department of Biology offers undergraduate degrees in biology and natural resources management as well as an MS in biology. Visit the department's website for more information on programs, faculty, and events.
- GVSU Biology BA/BSThe Biology Major is designed to help students gain a comprehensive understanding of the life sciences. The Biology faculty believe it is vital for students at the undergraduate level to become familiar with the major principles and unifying concepts of biology. Thus, the curriculum introduces students to the fundamental areas of biology, through a common core of foundational biology courses, and provides flexibility by allowing students to select from a diverse array of elective courses.
- GVSU Natural Resources Management BSEnvironmental pollution, deforestation, climate change, and increasing demand for outdoor recreation are just a few of the current challenges to natural resources conservation and environmental sustainability. The Natural Resources Management (NRM) program prepares students to care for our land and water resources, and to serve the people whose well-being depends on these resources.
- GVSU Biology MSGrand Valley State University's Master of Science degree in biology is designed to allow students the opportunity to study at a graduate level in broad areas such as genetics and cell biology, organismal biology, aquatic and terrestrial ecology, and natural resources.
Students in our program have access to the DNA sequencing facility located at the Annis Water Resources Institute (AWRI).
