Modern Language Association (MLA) Style Guide
Below are online resources for learning and using the Modern Language Association of America's style guide. More information can be found in the print version of the manual, available from the GVSU University Libraries:

MLA Interactive Tutorial
- Anatomy of a Citation: MLALearn about the essential parts and formats of MLA citations with this fun activity. This module includes three short videos about creating MLA citations for journal articles, books, and book chapters. Test your knowledge by identifying all the parts of the citation and putting them in the correct order.
Total time, including videos—about 13 minutes.
The tutorial works best with Chrome or Internet Explorer (not currently working with Chrome. Use Internet Explorer, Firefox, or Edge).

Citing Indigenous Elders and Knowledge Keepers
NorQuest College Library in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, has noted that the formal APA and MLA styles do not have a format for the oral teachings of Indigenous Elders and Knowledge Keepers so they have developed citation styles in the spirit of wahkôhtowin and reconciliation.
