How to appropriately cite your sources
Citing Indigenous Elders and Knowledge Keepers
NorQuest College Library in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, has noted that the formal APA and MLA styles do not have a format for the oral teachings of Indigenous Elders and Knowledge Keepers so they have developed citation styles in the spirit of wahkôhtowin and reconciliation. It takes the place of a conventional bibliography as "a conversation about the embraided influences of our words, ideas, and voices" (p. 242).
