As defined by the U.S. National Library of Medicine, health informatics is the interdisciplinary study of the design, development, adoption, and application of IT-based innovations in healthcare services delivery, management, and planning.

- CINAHL Complete This link opens in a new window This database provides access to health science literature related to nursing and allied health disciplines. In addition, it includes standards of practice and evidence-based care guidelines.
- Communication Source This comprehensive Communication Studies database offers worldwide full-text content pertaining to communication, including informatics in a range of health and medical contexts.
- ProQuest Medical Database Use this database to find medical literature covering major healthcare specialties, including nursing and allied health disciplines.
- PubMed PubMed, a service of the National Library of Medicine, is a publicly available online database of biomedical and medical journal records. It includes MEDLINE content.
