An introduction to the field of digital humanities (DH) and resources for finding tools and projects

What is DH?

"Digital humanities is a diverse and still emerging field that encompasses the practice of humanities research in and through information technology, and the exploration of how the humanities may evolve through their engagement with technology, media, and computational methods." (Digital Humanities Quarterly)

DH is a field that uses digital tools to enhance humanities research and education. There's a lot you can do with it, so even experts have different ways of defining and talking about DH. To get a taste of that, check out what participants of the annual Day of DH conference have contributed as their personal definitions of digital humanities in this fun database - refresh the page for a new definition every time!
