- Academic Video OnlineAcademic Video Online: Premium is an Alexander Street Press (ASP) collection that consists of thousands of streaming videos from a large number of produces and distributors across a wide range of subject areas, including art, architecture, business, counseling and therapy, dance, economics, education, ethnic studies, ethnography, gay and lesbian studies, health, history, humanities, law and public safety, literature, opera, philosophy, political science, psychology, religion, science, theater, women's studies, and more.
- KanopyKanopy is an on-demand streaming video service that provides access to a wide variety of films, series, and documentaries. If there are specific films that are required viewing for your courses, you can search by title on Kanopy's catalog and fill out Kanopy’s request form that appears for films not currently licensed through GVSU Libraries.
- LGBT Studies in VideoProviding access to more than 250 videos, LGBT Studies provides students and researchers across disciplines a multi-content perspective on the LGBT political, cultural and social movements throughout the twentieth century and into the present day. It provides key resources of interest to students and researchers in sociology, anthropology, psychology, counseling, history, political science, gender studies, cultural studies, and religious studies.

- Filmakers Library OnlineFilmakers Library Online provides access to more than 1,000 award-winning documentaries.
- Films on DemandFilms On Demand provides access to more than 11,000 online streaming videos from the Films Media Group.

- Library of Congress: American Memory Access to hundreds of early films
- Media Burn Archive An "independent video archive," collecting, preserving, and making available documentary video and television created by artists, activists, and community groups.
- NASA Videos Browse a large collection of videos relating to space and science
- National Film Preservation Foundation Films are not truly preserved until they can be seen again by the public—for study, education, and enjoyment. All organizations receiving NFPF support make their films available for research.
